Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Legislature continues to steam ahead with a bill that would allow residents of Texas to openly carry handguns without either a license or training. The measure has passed the state House, and is on its way to the Senate where its future is uncertain. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick says it’s still short of the votes needed for passage, but he thinks he can get it approved by adopting some changes favored by law enforcement. Governor Abbott has already said he will sign the measure when, and if, it gets to his desk.
