IRVING (WBAP/KLIF)- Irving police say a person whose body was recovered from Lago De Claire in a Las Colinas neighborhood may be a woman who was reported missing earlier this week.
Officer Robert Reeves with the Irving Police Department said police had been searching the area over the past two days looking for 38-year-old Lashun Massey who took a walk around the lake daily.
“We requested assistance form the Texas Department of Public Safety Dive Team who deployed troops from across the state to assist us,” said Reeves.
Massey is the current reigning Mrs. Dallas pageant queen, mother and wife and was last seen walking around the Lake in her neighborhood. Her husband said she would get back in time to get her kids ready for school and she never returned home.
On the morning Massey went missing, witnesses say they saw her walking on the edge of the lake and even saw her exit the water and a couple hours later, enter the water again.
Officer Reeves said the Dallas County Medical Examiner needs to ID the body but he can confirm that the body found was wearing the same clothing Massey was last seen wearing.
He said the medical examiner will also determine the cause of death, but no foul play is suspected.
“There’s lots of possibilities so we don’t want to jump to any conclusions as far as suicide because it could have even been something as simple as tripping while running and falling in and having some type of injury,” said Reeves.
Massey was set to compete for the Mrs. Texas USA title in September.
