(WBAP/KLIF) — The day of reckoning has arrived for Texas’ power grid leaders. After over 4-million customers went without power during two winter storms last week, lawmakers begin questioning members of the ‘energy reliability council’ for answers.
The hearings at the Texas capital come as some legislators are asking for more regulation to prevent a repeat of last week’s failure. Governor Greg Abbott announced that he is in favor of requiring power plants to enact measures to winterize equipment and facilities.
Lawmakers are also looking at ways to prevent extremely high energy bills, which some Texans were hit with after the storms.
