(WBAP/KLIF) — The Metroplex has nearly 581,000 cases of COVID-19. Dallas county’s over 1,400 newly confirmed cases raised the pandemic total to over 233,000. Tarrant county listed 1,394 new cases pushing the county close to 227,000 infected residents.
Collin county’s total increased to almost 64,500 cases following 279 newly confirmed positive tests, while Denton county’s 483 newly infected residents move the county’s pandemic total to over 56,000 cases. North Texas saw almost 3,600d new cases, Friday.
Texas is approaching 2.2 million coronavirus cases. Friday’s numbers show over 10,000 new cases and 401 deaths. Dallas county listed 42 additional deaths, Friday, elevating the county death toll to almost 2,400. Tarrant county also has close to 2,400 fatalities, while Collin county lists 618, and Denton county has lost 344 residents.
The mortality rate of the coronavirus in North Texas sits at 1%, with Ddenton county listing a 0.6% death rate. More than 38,000 Texans have lost their lives during the pandemic.
