Washington (AP) – Late Thursday, after she delivered a speech defending herself before the House voted on removing her from two committees, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to distance herself from the unfounded conspiracies she once promoted before her election to Congress.
It wasn’t enough. Eleven Republicans joined all Democrats in the House and voted to strip the congresswoman of her committee assignments.
Greene had said in her speech that she now believes that 9-11 did happen and that school shootings happened as well.
And, she added, she had not promoted baseless conspiracies since her election.
Rep Greene will now lose her assignments to the House Education and Labor Committee and also the Budget Committee.
