FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- City of Fort Worth Officially swore in its new police chief Tuesday night.
Chief Neil Noakes is a long time veteran of the Fort Worth Police Department, first joining in 2000 and most recently serving in the position of Deputy Chief.
“I’m not rising in the ranks to have more people under me, but its to serve more. That’s what we are here to do(Fort Worth)and we are hear to serve everyone,” the new Police Chief told the city council after being sworn in.
Noakes has led many community projects including a mentor program to prevent gang and gun violence among youth. He has worked with many operations within the department by serving on patrol, investigation, traffic and internal affairs.
He will be replacing Chief Ed Kraus, who announced his retirement in July.
