ALAMO, Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – President Donald Trump called for peace and calm during a Tuesday trip to Texas.

President Trump spoke in the border town of Alamo, Texas Tuesday afternoon and touched on the events last week when a deadly riot broke out inside the U.S. Capitol Building.

“Now is the time for our nation to heal and it’s time for peace and for calm. Respect for law enforcement and the great people within law enforcement,” Trump said.

“We’re a nation of law and we’re a nation of order,” Trump said.

The president also railed against efforts by democrats to impeach him over the deadly violence at the Capitol.

Earlier Tuesday, the president said while many are angry over the impeachment effort, no one should become violent.
