North Texas Surpasses 450,000 Coronavirus Cases

(WBAP/KLIF) — North Texas surpasses 450,000 positive tests for covid-19.  Over 6,400 newly confirmed cases of the coronavirus were detected in the Metroplex, Friday. Tarrant county reported two shy of 3,000 cases, Dallas county listed nearly 2,400, while Collin and Denton counties combined for more than a thousand newly infected residents.

Dallas county was the only county reporting additional fatalities with 21 deaths, Friday. The Metroplex death toll sits at just under 4,100.  Texas health officials reported more than 17,300 new cases of COVID-19 and over 370 deaths. The additional cases bring the pandemic total close to 1.7 million. Dallas county has more than 188,000 cases, Tarrant county has almost 171,000 positive tests, Collin county has close to 49,000, while Denton reports nearly 43,000 coronavirus cases.

Both Dallas and Tarrant counties have more than 1,700 pandemic fatalities, while Denton and Collin counties combine for over 630 deaths.

Metroplex 450,648 positive tests (6,433 new), 4,092 deaths (21 new), 0.9% mortality rate

Texas 1,684,271 positive tests (17,335 new), 29,310 deaths (372 new), 1.7% mortality rate
