The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office plans to use two refrigerated trucks to store extra bodies.

Medical Examiner Doctor Nizam Peerwani says it’s not just because of the rise in Covid-19 cases.

“There’s also a 33% increase in homicides in Tarrant county and we also have a rise in suicides and drug related deaths,” said Peerwani.

He says the current storage capacity at the examiner’s office is 100 bodies and they are close to hitting that mark.

The two trailers will hold an additional 50 bodies each which will double the storage capacity.
