Metroplex Closing in on 195,000 Coronavirus Cases

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Metroplex experienced an uptick of almost 1,600 new Coronavirus cases, Wednesday.  Tarrant county led the way in newly confirmed positive tests of Coronavirus with 641. Dallas county issued 624 new positives, Collin county 132, and Denton county 156 new cases.

North Texas as a whole is approaching 195,000 positive Coronavirus tests with over 2,100 deaths. the mortality rate sits at 1.1%.  Statewide, just under 980,000 tests have come back positive with close to 18,000 fatalities.

The Lone Star state saw another 105 residents taken to their graves by COVID-19, Wednesda, bringing the state’s death toll to 17,700.

The good news, if any, is that the mortality rate continues to inch down as 1.1% of North Texans who catch COVID-19, die of the disease.

Dallas county lists 1,085 casualties of the Coronavirus pandemic, Tarrant county has 703 deaths, Collin county 180, and Denton county 127 deaths.

Texas 979,994 positive tests (5,175 new), 17,700 deaths (105 new), 1.8% mortality rate
