Denton County Judge Andy Eads Tests Positive for COVID-19

DENTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Denton County Judge Andy Eads tests positive for Covid-19.

Officials said Eads is isolating at home and has been in quarantine since Monday after he was notified of the potential exposure.

Officials said his contact with others has been limited to only those in his home and anyone identified as a close contact to Eads will be asked to quarantine.

“I want to encourage people to follow quarantine procedures if they have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19,” Eads said. “By going into quarantine, the potential for spreading COVID-19 to others is significantly reduced.”
Eads said he feels good and will continue to work at home while recovering.
Officials said Eads did not have contact with a Denton County poll worker had tested positive earlier in the day that caused one polling site in Lewisville to temporarily close.

Elections officials say the clerk was working at the Fred P. Herring Recreation Center and the elections site was shut down at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Crews have been disinfecting the space and it should be open again Friday by 7am.
