DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A North Texas high school football team announced on Tuesday that it is canceling games after a player tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Garland ISD, a Rowlett High School football player tested positive for the virus, and out of an abundance of caution, other team members will quarantine for 14 days.
Garland ISD is fortunate to partner with the Garland Health Department to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff and community,” the district said in a statement. “All Garland ISD students, staff and families can also receive free COVID-19 testing at Ayman Care. The health and safety of GISD students and staff remains our top priority.”
Rowlett High School’s varsity football games have been canceled through October 9. The October 9 game against Sachse High School will be rescheduled.
Families of quarantined players have been notified and given resources to monitor for symptoms.
