Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – In what’s seen as another COVID-related set back for the airline industry, Fort Worth based American Airlines’ planned new Terminal-F at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has been put on hold.
Airport officials postponed the planned 24-gate facility “indefinitely” because of the drastic drop in air travel, according to thepointsguy.com.
Construction of a sixth terminal the airport was visualized to be the most significant infrastructure project at DFW many years.
DFW CEO Sean Donohoe told Business Journal, “I think the question on most people’s minds is, what is the status of Terminal F?.” Officials have been in discussions about the way forward since April, as they took another look at the proposed size of the terminal that would have added 30 gates to American’s hub.
Plans for “Terminal F were unveiled last May with the opening originally planned for 2025.
