PLANO (WBAP/KLIF)- A 29-year-old man is charged with capital murder for allegedly killing a Plano woman while jogging earlier this month.
The Plano Police Department says they got back forensic evidence that Bakari Moncrief was associated with 45-year old Sarmistha Sen’s death.
Plano Police Officer David Tilley said Moncrief was already in custody, on a burglary charge, because he was caught on surveillance video trying to break into a home near where Sen’s body was found. But after getting back the forensic tests, they were able to serve a warrant and upgrade his charge.
Moncrief is being held on a $10 million dollar bond at the Collin County Detention Center in McKinney.
“The DA’s Office has the case but we are still actively investigating..this isn’t something we can just completely just say okay we are done and wash our hands of it,” said Tilley.
