Texas Rangers Win First Home Opener at New Stadium

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- After months of no sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, major league baseball made its return to North Texas Friday night.

The Texas Rangers took on the Colorado Rockies for the first home opener played at the new Globe Life Field, which was partially filled with cardboard cut outs of fans and former players.

The Rangers defeated the Rockies 1-0 after Danny Santana scored the first and only run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Rangers again play the Rockies in Arlington Saturday at 3 p.m.
