SAN MARCOS (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- A 35-year-old man has been arrested after he admitted to killing his girlfriend.
37-year-old Dallas ISD school teacher Jennifer Hickmon was found dead on July 12th by Dallas police after Hickmon’s family told officers she had not been responding to phone calls or texts, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Law enforcement found the primary suspect, Jeffery Alan Scott at a gas station in San Marcos. Scott pulled out his handgun and began firing at the officers. He was shot by a state trooper and was treated with non-life threatening injuries.
He voluntarily confessed to killing Hickmon after being taken to Hays County Jail.
Scott now faces a murder charge and $2 million bail.
