DFW (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- The COVID-19 pandemic has canceled almost all large public gathering events throughout the state. One string of events that has been hit particularly hard is auto shows.
Both the Dallas and Fort worth Auto shows have now been canceled, as well as the Texas State Fair Auto Show, which brings in nearly 3 and half million people annually.
“Without the auto shows people don’t get an opportunity to see the new models,” said WBAP’s The Car Pro Show host Jerry Reynolds, ” We’re going go to a year without any new vehicle reveals.”
Reynolds says auto companies have been doing online reveals amid the pandemic but he’s not yet sure on how effective that will be. But despite this, he says overall car sales are doing just fine.
“There’s a lot of people who are looking for those bargains and the truth is the incentives are really good right now,” said Reynolds.
Reynolds says newer vehicles are going to start hitting the sales floor now that manufacturing plants are resuming operations after being shut down for nearly three months.
