CLEBURNE (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- Celebrating the Fourth of July might be different for some this year after Governor Greg Abbott announced an order limiting outdoor gatherings to just ten people due to the spread of COVID-19.
The order states that city leaders still have the power to allow for larger gatherings, and Cleburne Mayor Scott Cain told WFAA-TV on Friday, he’s taking up that offer.
“So I have a standing order that approves all gatherings from 10 to 100, so basically small gatherings, so we can have our barbecues and we can celebrate our freedoms this weekend,” said Cain.
Mayor Cain still recommends citizens incorporate cloth face masks and social distancing at large gatherings in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
