Texas COVID-19 Positive Rate Continues to Climb

(WBAP/KLIF) — Texas COVID-19 cases are approaching 184,000 with over 2,500 deaths.  Nearly 24,000 positive tests have occurred in Dallas county, where health officials saw a single day record of almost 1,100 cases.

Tarrant county still lists nearly 13,500 cases, while Denton reports almost 3,200, and Collin county has over 3,300 infected residents.  The Metroplex as a whole has reported nearly 44,000 positive tests for the Coronavirus.

The death toll is now 709, with 393 occurring in Dallas coutny, 233 in Tarrant, 46 in Collin, and 37 in Denton.  In Texas as a whole, 2,575 residents have died of the virus.  However, the statewide mortality rate continues to drop, now at 1.4%.

Dallas and Tarrant counties mortality rate is 1.7%, Collin is at 1.4%, and Denton county has a 1.2% fatality rate.
