(WBAP/KLIF) — A Fort Worth man has been charged in the shooting death of a young woman pregnant with twins. Authorities have charged 28 year old Maurice Kelso Smith of capital murder, Wednesday, in the death of his 26 year old girlfriend.
The incident occurred in Mansfield, Monday afternoon, when Smith exited a vehicle in a parking lot and carjacked a woman’s car at gunpoint. Police later found the stolen car abandoned.
Officers discovered the body of Smith’s pregnant girlfriend in a vehicle parked close to where the carjacking occurred. The Fort Worth man faces additional charges of aggravated robbery, burglary, and parole violation.
