DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – A north Dallas salon owner on Midway Road may have found a way to serve customers while everyone involved safe from Covid 19 transmission. A bevy of safety steps is now in place toward that goal.
Salon 13500 owner Joyce Cummings meets masked customers with appointments at the entry doors, asking them to immediately cleanse hands with hand sanitizer. The appointment name and time is checked with the schedule; client’s temperatures are taken and phone numbers confirmed for any possible contact tracing at later times. A mask will be offered to customers if staff feels their mask may provide an improved fit over what customers are wearing as they enter the business.
Clients are then taken to a sink to wash their hands, and a stylist accompanies them to their designated area for services. As services are underway, cleaning staff and stylists continue to disinfect all surfaces touched; a client will see the handle of a hair dryer or any other equipment sanitized multiple times during one appointment.
Near “touchless” payment can also be made with salon and stylist software. “I’ve had several clients thank me and tell me they feel safe here”, Cummings says.
