TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, a federal judge says all Texas voters can apply for a mail-in ballot in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
U.S. district judge Fred Biery submitted the official order siding with Texas democrats. Under this, voters who are under the age of 65, who normally cannot apply, can.
Attorney General Ken Paxton expressed his concerns with the bill, saying that it could put the integrity of the election at risk and he is concerned with potential voter fraud. But Biery fired back saying there has been little or no evidence of widespread fraud in Texas.
“Two hundred forty-years on, Americans now seek Life without fear of pandemic, Liberty to choose their leaders in an environment free of disease and the pursuit of Happiness without undue restrictions,” said Biery.
Paxton is expected to appeal this decision.
