ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A person with direct knowledge of the deal says the Texas Rangers and the Mets have agreed on a trade that will send Gold Glove second baseman Marcus Semien to New York in exchange for outfielder Brandon Nimmo. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday because the deal hadn’t been finalized or announced. Nimmo, who has played all 10 of his big league seasons with the Mets, just completed the third season of the $162 million, eight-year contract he got after becoming a free agent for the first time. Semien has three seasons and $72 million remaining on the $175 million, seven-year contract he signed with the Rangers in December 2021.
