SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazil’s Vice President Geraldo Alckmin says U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to remove additional import tariffs on some Brazilian agribusiness products marks significant progress. On Thursday, Trump lifted the 40% tariffs on goods like coffee, fruit, and beef to lower consumer costs. Alckmin, who also serves as Trade minister, led negotiations with U.S. officials. Brazil’s coffee exporters council celebrated the move, calling it a historic victory. Brazil remains a key supplier of beef and coffee to the U.S. Alckmin states Brazil will continue pushing for more exemptions in future talks.
