Unpaid Medical Bills Are going to Remain On Credit Reports

(WBAP/KLIF) – A federal judge in Texas annulled a move by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau toward the end of the Biden presidency that would have removed medical debt. The judge found that the rule exceeded the Bureau’s authority though under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The rule would have removed nearly $50 billion dollars in medical bills from credit reports of 15 million Americans, which studies showed would have raised many of their credit scores significantly.
