Dallas Museum of Art Lays Off Eight Percent of Staff, Reduces Hours

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – In an effort to return to pre-pandemic numbers, the Dallas Museum of Art will be laying off eight percent of its workforce and reduce its operating hours.

About twenty full-time positions will be eliminated and two full-time positions are being reduced to part-time, said officials in a news release.

The DMA said strategic changes made immediately after the pandemic failed to keep the nonprofit sustainable with a full staff.

Officials also blame rising costs, expiration of government funding and visitations not returning to pre-pandemic levels for the cuts.

The museum said it will provide staff impacted by the changes with resources to support them during the transition.
