Governor Abbott is Calling for a Third Special Session

AUSTIN – (WBAP/KLIF) – On Tuesday Governor Abbott sent a letter to Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dade Phelan informing them that a special session that will begin on October 9th.

While Abbott hasn’t stated the focus of the upcoming session, he has previously mentioned that another special session should be called to focus on school vouchers and public school funding.

Under Texas law special sessions can last up to 30 days, and are limited to topics set by the governor. This special session will begin on Monday October 9th at 1 P.M.
