DPS Cancels Texas Driver License Appointments Statewide

(WBAP/KLIF) – A weekend software update has canceled all driver license appointments in Texas for Wednesday, September 6th.

The Department of Public Safety’s driver license system has crashed after a Labor Day Weekend update, which has forced the cancellation of all appointments statewide. Residents should receive a message through email or phone about the canceled appointment, which affects renewals and replacement identification cards and driver licenses. It also prevents residents from obtaining driving record or verifying eligibility.

DPS officials indicate the system failure is affecting offices across the state and online. The department continues working to identify issues related to the driver license system update that took place over the weekend.
