(WBAP/KLIF) – ERCOT officials are expecting the Texas power gird to have lower operating reserves Saturday afternoon and evening, and are asking residents to conserve energy between 3 PM and 9 PM.
According to ERCOT, today’s conservation appeal does not indicate that the grid is experiencing emergency conditions at this time. The high demand for electricity combined with low wind and potential low solar power generation show the potential to enter emergency operations this evening.
ERCOT officials also stated that any outages at this time are local in nature and not related to overall grid reliability. Residents who are experiencing an outage should check with their local electric provider for more information.
