The Timothy Simpkins jury will soon start deliberating his fate.

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – The defense in the attempted capital murder trial of Timothy Simpkins rested its case this morning without calling additional witnesses.
Simpkins is accused of shooting two students and a teacher inside Timberview High Scholl on October 6, 2021 after a fight with a fellow student Zach Selby who was 15 at the time. Selby was the alleged target of the shooting. He was critically wounded and spent over two weeks in a hospital.
Among defense witnesses on Tuesday was former student, Charli Johnson, who says Selby approached her in the hallway on that fateful day and asked her to record the fight he was about to have with Simpkins. She says that she stopped recording when Selby started stomping on Simpkins head.”
Simpkins lawyers argued that their client shot Selby in self defense.
Simpkins is charged with 3 counts of attempted capital murder and faces several years to life in priosn if convicted.

Simpkins was 18 when he opened fire inside Mansfield ISD’s Timberview High School injuring 3 people.Simpkins was allegedly targeting a 15-year old student who his lawyers say bullied him before the shooting.
