Fort Worth )WBAP/KLIF) – The national weather service has issued a heat advisory for DFW and most of north Texas. It takes effect Sunday at 1:00 PM, and will affect almost everything along the I-20 corridor. Forecasters say hot temperatures and high humidity will increase the risk for heat-related illnesses, particularly among those working or participating in outdoor activities. The Heat Index Values, a measure of how hot it will feel, will reach 105 to 111 degrees. The advisory will be in effect until 9:00 PM Monday.
The National Weather Service warns it will be important to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned areas, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
