GRAPEVINE (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Police are investigating how a woman’s body ended up in Grapevine Lake this week.
The discovery was made Thursday around 2:30 p.m., after a driver traveling on Fairway Drive called 911 and told dispatch her passenger thought he spotted a body floating near the spillway on the right side of the dam.
Officers closed Fairway Drive and requested assistance from Grapevine and Flower Mound Fire Departments, game warden, Army Corps of Engineers and the medical examiner.
First responders arrived on the scene and recovered the body from the lake.
Grapevine police say officers discovered “signs of trauma inconsistent with drowning.” It’s unclear how long the woman’s body was in the water.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is determining the woman’s identity and cause of death.
