(WBAP/KLIF) – An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for North and Central Texas until 8 PM Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, hot temperatures and high humidity will result in peak heat index values of 115 degrees through Tuesday night.
NWS officials say the temperatures will increase the risk for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
NWS is asking North Texas to make sure they practice heat safety by drinking plenty of water, and taking frequent rest breaks in shade or air conditioning.
