
Fort Worth. TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth police are investigating after a double fatality crash last night [Sunday Jan. 22] that they say happened after a driver sped away from a street takeover. It happened just after 11 p.m.
When police got to the location on University Drive near White Settlement Road, they turned on their emergency lights. That’s when a red Camera lights went off, according to police, and sped off eastbound on White Settlement.
Police did not chase the vehicle but later saw a “bright flash on the traffic circle on White Settlement.
Officers said the Camaro had gone airborne and struck the transformer of a power pole.
The driver and passenger in the vehicle died in the collision, police said. Two other passengers were pinned inside the overturned, burning vehicle, but were pulled out by officers.
