San Antonio (WBAP/KLIF) – A traveler detained at San Antonio International Airport this week after a giant 84mm anti-tank weapon was found in his check luggage, was released after proving that the weapon had been de-militarized for display at a trade show in Las Vegas.
The passenger who has not been identified provided paperwork verifying its de-militarized status. He was able to rebook his flight to Vegas…but without the weapon.
On Monday TSA-Southwest tweeted a photo of the weapon saying that it was found in checked luggage was not declared. The man claims that he did declare it but apparently that message had not made its way to TSA.
