(WBAP/KLIF) — Sunday marks the anniversary of the hostage situation at Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville.
It’s been nearly a year since Malik Faisal Akram held four hostages at gunpoint during a 12-hour stand-off at a Jewish synagogue in Colleyville. The FBI has released 911 calls from the incident where Akram held Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker and three others hostage.
The hostages made a daring escape and police later killed the gunman. FBI agents and interfaith leaders attended a memorial service on Friday to commemorate the incident.
