(WBAP/KLIF) — Another officer is fired in the Uvalde school massacre. Texas Ranger Christopher Ryan Kindell has been fired after a letter from Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw indicated that Kindell “should have recognized the incident was and remained an active shooter situation which demanded an active shooter response rather than a barricaded subject situation.”

During a CNN interview, McCraw committed to pursue accountability from his officers, which included his own job if necessary. McCraw says he fired Kindell for failing to perform his duty during the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School where 19 children and two teachers were gunned down.
Kindell is the second DPS officer to be fired for the Uvalde response, as Juan Maldonado was terminated last October. According to the Texas Tribune, Kindell plans to appeal the decision.
