(WBAP/KLIF) — Experts expects nearly 113 million Americans will wrap up 2022 travel by land, air and sea.

This year is expected to be the third busiest holiday travel year in over two decades. AAA Texas began tracking travel data in 2000, and indicates that nearly 112.9-million people will travel 50 miles or more away from home between Christmas and the New Year holidays, an increase of 3.6 million people over last year.
AAA Texas also estimates 8.9 million Texans will journey 50 miles or more away from home from December 23 to January 2. That’s up 3% from last year and about 7% fewer trips than pre-pandemic 2019. Travel will vary between plane, train, and automobile.
