(WBAP/KLIF) — A change in border leadership may be on the horizon. Reports are surfacing that the head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection is being forced out of his job. Chris Magnus has been on the job for less than a year, but has come under intense scrutiny over the border crisis.

With historic levels of drugs, illegal immigrants, and human trafficking at the southern border, the border crisis may be pushing the CBP’s top cop out of a job. National Border Patrol Council Vice President Chris Cabrera says reports say Magnus has been asked to resign or be fired.
Morale of border patrol agents has dwindled as vast amounts of drugs, human trafficking, and over 2.2 million known illegal immigrants have crossed the border. Cabrera says if the reports are true, a change has been long overdue. For less than a year Magnus has lead CBP, however reports of him being pushed out are a direct result of his leadership, according to Cabrera.
No official statement has come from the Biden Administration regarding a change in leadership. However, CNN is reporting that Magnus’ duties have been assumed by other at the CBP.
