GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A fiery wreck shut down the westbound lanes of I-30 between Zion and Bobtown Roads in Garland early Tuesday morning.
Garland Police said there was a fatality connected to the crash that involved two 18-wheelers. The wreck had traffic backed up during most of the early morning commute.
Garland Police Spokesman Lieutenant Richard Maldonado said the collision occurred around 4:45 a.m.
“There was a semi truck that was pulled over on the right shoulder. Another semi truck was traveling in the lane of traffic and hit the semi truck that was pulled over,” he said.
Authorities are asking drivers to find an alternate route as that portion of the highway is expected to be closed for several hours.
Drivers are advised to take Hwy 66 over Lake Ray Hubbard to Rowlett and Garland, then take Garland Ave. to connect to 635.
