Charge Filed in Wrong-Way Crash that Killed Dallas Police Officer

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Dallas Police Department has charged 31-year-old Mayra Rebollar with Intoxication Manslaughter in the death of 25-year-old Officer Jacob Arellano this week.

The wrong-way crash happened on northbound Spur 408 around 11:48 p.m. on Tuesday as Officer Arellano was on his way to work at the NorthWest Patrol Division.

Investigators said the officer was traveling northbound in the middle three lanes when his SUV was hit head-on by a sedan going southbound in the northbound lanes.

The crash caused Arellano’s SUV to go into the right lane where it was hit by a tractor trailer, rolled several times and stopped on the right should of Spur 408.

He later died at a nearby hospital. According to Dallas PD, Rebollar is still in the hospital and hasn’t been arraigned.
