Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty for East Texas Woman Found Guilty of Murdering Pregnant Woman for Unborn Child

Taylor Parker

EAST TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – An East Texas jury will decide whether the woman who killed a pregnant woman and cut her unborn child from her womb will be sentenced to death.

Prosecutors asked jurors in Bowie County to consider the sentence on Wednesday during this week’s penalty phase of Taylor Parker’s capital murder trial for the October 2020 murder of Reagan Simmons-Hancock and the theft her child, who also died.

Investigators say parker faked a pregnancy and intended to pass off Simmons-Hancock’s child as her own.

A jury found parker guilty of capital murder last week. Her attorneys are asking the jury to spare her life and give her life in prison without parole.
