Police Officer Charged of Shooting Teen Eating Hamburger

(WBAP/KLIF) — A former San Antonio police officer has been charged in last week’s shooting of a teen eating a hamburger in his car.

San Antonio Police recently released a statement indicating that James Brennand was charged, Tuesday, with two counts of aggravated assault by a peace officer in the October 2nd shooting of 17-year-old Erik Cantu in a McDonald’s parking lot. A family attorney says Cantu remains hospitalized in critical condition, a condition starkly contrasting with a description given by police after the shooting..

Brennand was swiftly fired after department leaders viewed body cam video.
