DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Dallas Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a suspect dead and a neighborhood in shock.
Chief Eddie Garcia said the shooting happened early Wednesday in a residential neighborhood off Shiloh Road near Gus Thomasson in East Dallas shortly after police arrived on scene.
“At about 5:35 in the morning we got a call about an armed encounter at 10300 Shiloh about an individual in the middle of the street pointing firearms at vehicles,” he said.
Investigators said the unidentified suspect got into a heated exchange with officers.
“Officers arrived encountered the individual. After ignoring multiple commands to drop the weapon, the individual threatened the officers with the weapon, fired at officers at the same time the officers fired back at the suspect,” said Chief Garcia.
No officers were injured.
