UPDATE 9:15 a.m. : Power has been restored at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and crews are working to resume normal operations.
Roadways to the airport are still closed and flights have not yet resumed.
Anyone who has a flight out of Austin Bergstrom is advised to hold off on arriving on site and to contact their carrier for flight information.
AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A power outage at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport early Wednesday morning left travelers in the dark for several hours.
The airport detailed the outage in Barbara Jordan Terminal on Twitter.
“Airport teams have been dispatched to investigate the cause of the outage. Airport roadways are temporarily closed and all flights have been halted,” said airport officials.
An AUS spokesperson told KXAN TV that backup generators restored partial power around 6:30 a.m. As of 7:18 a.m., the airport had not given an estimate time for power to be completely restored.
Austin Energy crews are working to restore power.
Flight cancellations and delays are anticipated this morning. Travelers are advised to check the status of their flights before heading to Austin Bergstrom.
