UVALDE (WBAP/KLIF) – The five Department of Public Safety officers who responded to the Uvalde massacre are under investigation.
The Inspector General’s Office is expected to conduct the review into the actions of the five officers. The DPS agents are under fire for waiting over an hour before re-engaging the gunman who killed 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School last May.
The Inspector General’s Office will also determine if the officers will face disciplinary actions. According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, law enforcement doctrine dictates officers are to immediately confront active shooters.
This comes the day that students returned to school in Uvalde. 19 students and two teachers were killed in a shooting where the police response was later deemed an abject failure by the head of DPS.
