Controversial Proposals Approved at Grapevine-Colleyville and Keller ISDs

Policies deal with restrictions on school library books, CRT, gender/Trans issues and more …

Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – It was a standing room only crowd at the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD oard meeting last night as trustees considered, and eventually adapted a new policy that puts restrictions on library books and prohibits instruction on critical race theory. It also requires students and staff to use restrooms related to the their biological gender and requires trans-athletes to play on sports teams corresponding to the birth gender.

Nearly 200 people signed up to voice their opinion before the board passed the 4-to-3 to adopt the measure around overnight around 1am.

One man cited statistics that show that 45% of LGBTQ kids seriously consider suicide. The man said the the policy was going to kill kids and asked trustees if they want their “blood on their hands.”

Meantime at the Keller ISD board meeting last night, there was another standing room and at times raucus crowd as trustees heard public comment about a new policy dealing with school library books.

The policy allows for several factors to be used to judge books dealing with subjects like profanity, drug use, nudity, sex scenes and more. The measure passed 4-2 with one abstention.

Many touted opposition to the measure, calling it sensorship. while one woman said it infringes on parents rights.
