Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas County Health Department has set up a drive-thru vaccine clinic in the parking lot of its main headquarters of Stemmons Freeway.

Those eligible to get the appointment-only shots include anyone who has had direct, skin to skin contact with someone who has monkeypox

Men (cisgender and transgender) and transwomen who are at least 18 who have had multiple or anonymous sex partners in the past 14 days; or who met sexual partners online, through an app, or at a bar or party in the past 14 days.

As of Thursday, Dallas County had the bulk of monkeypox cases in Texas at nearly 350; overall cases statewide had surpassed 1,000.

Though health officials stress that anyone can get monkeypox, the outbreak in Dallas County was originally traced to a July 4 weekend festival that attracted the LGBTQ community.

The clinic is at at 2377 N. Stemmons Freeway.
