Former Irving Teacher Accused of Assaulting 2nd Grader

IRVING (WBAP/KLIF) – Irving police believe there could be more victims of a former teacher accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl. The alleged assault occurred when 28-year-old Victor Moreno was a teacher at Townsell Elementary School during the 2020-21 school year. The victim was a 2nd grader at the time.

Moreno resigned from the Irving ISD at the end of the 2021 school year, after failing to meet his certification
requirements, and was hired in the Plano ISD for the 2021-2022 school year. He was fired because of a code of
conduct violation.

Moreno was arrested on Thursday, July 21, 2022, and given a $10,000 bond for the charge of Continuous Sex Abuse of a
Young Child and a $5,000 bond for Improper Relationship between Student and Educator at Dallas County.
Moreno has bonded out of jail and is not in custody.

Officer Robert Reeves says “seeing someone like this get such a low bond from Dallas County and being able to bond out so easily is disappointing.” Reeves adds ” there’s nothing that’s leading us to make us believe this is an isolated incident…we believe there could be possible other victims.”
