DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – COVID-19 cases and hospitalization are on the rise in North Texas, but doctors aren’t overly concerned.
According to the Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation, week over week active positive cases and hospitalizations continue to increase, but the rate of growth has moderated this week. Pre-k cases continue to see the largest percentage increase.
According to the DFW Hospital Council, the COVIOD-19 hospitalization rate in North Texas is about 5%. While the rate isn’t alarming to doctors, it is the highest figure reported since February.
Medical experts attribute the recent spike to the current dominant COVID variant, as well as decreasing immunity.
